Yamal, João Neves and Désiré Doué are the only U21 players valued above €100 million, while France leads the wider €50m-plus ranking by country
Football’s most valuable young players are no longer just prospects for the future. Many are already important names at Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus, Bayern Munich and both Manchester clubs, and 23 footballers aged 21 or younger are now valued at €50 million or more.
Winsportsonline analysed those 23 players to see who leads the U21 market and which countries have the strongest presence among high-valued young footballers. The ranking is headed by Spain’s Lamine Yamal, while France stands out for depth, with five players valued at €50 million or more. Spain follows with three, and no other country has more than two.
Yamal leads the individual list by a wide margin. The 18-year-old Barcelona winger is valued at €200 million, making him the only U21 footballer to reach that figure. He is followed by PSG pair João Neves and Désiré Doué, valued at €140 million and €120 million respectively. Those three are the only players aged 21 or younger with market values above €100 million.
Key Takeaways:
- Lamine Yamal is the most valuable U21 footballer, with a market value of €200 million
- Yamal is valued €60 million higher than João Neves and €80 million higher than Désiré Doué
- The 23 players in the ranking are worth a combined €1.79 billion
- PSG have the highest combined value by club, with João Neves, Désiré Doué and Warren Zaïre-Emery worth €340 million in total
- Barcelona are second by combined club value, with Yamal and Pau Cubarsí worth €280 million
- Only three players on the list are 18 years old: Yamal, Lennart Karl and Ayyoub Bouaddi
- France leads the country ranking with five U21 players valued at €50 million or more
- Spain ranks second with three players, while Brazil, England, Portugal and Türkiye have two each
- No country outside France and Spain has more than two players in the ranking
The Most Valuable U21 Footballers

Lamine Yamal is the clear leader of the ranking. The Barcelona winger is valued at €200 million, making him not only the most valuable U21 footballer in the world, but also level with Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland among the most valuable players overall. At 18, Yamal is already in a different valuation bracket from every other player on the list, with no other U21 footballer coming within €60 million of his estimate.
He is followed by two PSG players. João Neves ranks second with a market value of €140 million, while Désiré Doué is third at €120 million. Together with Yamal, they are the only U21 footballers in the ranking valued above €100 million, showing how narrow the very top of the young-player market still is.
The next tier begins at €90 million, where Yan Diomande and Arda Güler share fourth place. Diomande gives RB Leipzig one of the highest-valued teenagers in world football, while Güler is Real Madrid’s highest-ranked U21 player on the list. Both sit just outside the €100 million group, but still ahead of several players already established at major European clubs.
Four players are valued at €80 million: Estêvão, Pau Cubarsí, Nico Paz and Warren Zaïre-Emery. This group adds further variety to the ranking, with players from Chelsea, Barcelona, Como and PSG all represented. It also shows how quickly the market has moved for teenagers and early-20s players, as three of the four are still aged 19 or 20.
Kenan Yıldız completes the top 10 with a valuation of €75 million, ahead of a €70 million group that includes Junior Kroupi, Kobbie Mainoo and Nico O’Reilly. The English pair give Manchester United and Manchester City one player each in that tier, while Kroupi places Bournemouth unusually high in a ranking otherwise dominated by Europe’s biggest clubs.
PSG are the most prominent club in the upper part of the list, with João Neves, Désiré Doué and Warren Zaïre-Emery all inside the top nine. Barcelona also have two players in the top six through Yamal and Cubarsí, while Real Madrid are represented by Güler and Dean Huijsen. The ranking therefore starts with one standout individual, but quickly becomes a picture of how Europe’s biggest clubs are collecting high-value U21 talent.
Number of U21 Footballers
Valued at €50M or more by Country

France stands alone for depth in the high-value U21 market. Five French players in the ranking are valued at €50 million or more, giving France a clear lead over every other country.
Spain is the only country close behind, with three players on the list: Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsí and Dean Huijsen. Brazil, England, Portugal and Türkiye follow with two players each, while seven other countries have one representative.
The gap is important because the ranking is not only about the very top of the market. Yamal is the clear individual leader, but France have produced the largest group of high-valued young players, with Désiré Doué, Warren Zaïre-Emery, Junior Kroupi, Jérémy Jacquet and Leny Yoro all above the €50 million threshold.
